It all started with a playful message, James sent a screenshot of Lilly’s Instagram to a friend:

“Who is this girl? I want to marry her.”

At the time, they were strangers. A couple of years passed, life unfolded, and somehow, fate did what it does best. Thanks to mutual friends, their paths finally crossed.

What started as casual Instagram chats (mainly about their shared love of food!) quickly became something more. After a little gentle persistence, James convinced Lilly to go for a drink in July 2020, and from that very first ‘date’, as they say, the rest is history.

Only four months later, in November, we moved into our first home together, a cosy little cottage tucked right off East Preston beach. A place where we began building a life together. Just under a year later, we found our next nest, a home of our own, just 500 yards away, ready for the next chapter.

Then, in December 2022, came a moment we’ll never forget. On a magical family trip to Iceland, James got down on one knee at sunset in front of the breathtaking Gullfoss Waterfall. With golden light spilling across the sky, and Lilly’s family there to witness and capture it all, he asked her to marry him. It was beyond perfect!

After soaking up the joy of being engaged (and maybe indulging in just a few celebration dinners & holidays), we began searching for the perfect place to say “I do.” In 2023, we travelled through Italy and completely fell in love, with the food, the views, the feeling. We knew, without a doubt, this was where we wanted to start our next chapter as husband and wife.

So here we are, planning the celebration of our dreams, surrounded by the people who mean the world to us. We can’t wait to share this unforgettable moment with you in the country that stole our hearts.
